Environment
Even though materials used by Lennard Wood creations are from sustainable sources, we are doing that little bit extra by helping to re-introduce native hardwoods into Welsh woodlands.
In the last year we have grown sixty sapling trees from the seed, in various hardwood species such as, Oak, Ash and Chestnut. In association with local land owners, we hope to plant these in their third year.
The aim is to introduce 100 trees a year, which will more than replenish the wood stocks we use for future generations, and offset our carbon footprint.
Material Sources
Local Materials
Lennard Wood Creations try to utilise materials grown and sold locally. And the use of local hardwoods especially, is what lends beauty and longevity to a great proportion of the furniture and other wood products.
Exotic Materials
With many commissioned products, inlays of exotic materials are used (such as Walnut)., often in conjunction with furniture made in native woods.
Also some clients may specify that they want their product made in an exotic material. Most American, African and Australian woods can be sourced if necessary. Although I would only suggest such materials, if the decorative grain qualities that some exotic woods could provide, what a native wood could not.
